The food and the sunrise are as good as I promise, but the whole time I can barely take my eyes of Skye.

Ever since I left her at her cabin yesterday, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her.

We’re from two different worlds. And even though I know it’ll never work out, I can’t stop myself from falling for her.

She’s magnificent.

It’s as simple as that. Perfection on legs. The kind of woman I’ve been waiting to meet all my life. And here she is. In my lap. But one of my only real friend's niece, and somebody who’ll be going back to the city in no time at all.

I almost wish I’d never met her. Because now I’m going to have to go through each day knowing she’s out there somewhere. Possibly with another man.

“Urgh,” I growl. The thought of her with someone else makes my blood boil.

We finish our food and I clean up the fire. Kicking soil onto it to stop it from burning and picking up any trash we might have left.

After that, I take her on a carefully thought-out tour of some of my favorite places.

A waterfall. The lake. This little clearing in the middle of nowhere that catches the light just right.

It’s a special place for me.

The place where I decided I wasn’t going to go back to Hollywood.

I’ve never brought anyone else here. Not even her uncle Pete, or any of the other people who live in nearby cabins who I sometimes spend my days with.

“What do you think?” I ask, surprisingly nervous about hearing her opinion.

It's like I’m showing her the deepest darkest part of my soul. Like I'm standing before her naked and asking her to judge me. Not that I’d mind getting naked with Skye. Just looking at her makes me want to take my clothes off and bury my cock between her legs.

She spins around. A broad smile on her face. “It’s like something out of a fairy tale.”

“It is.” My heart swells in my chest. I’ve never been so happy. I wonder whether she knows the effect she’s having on me. If she can see it on my face. How much I want her. How much I need her. How I’m ready to put a ring on her finger and make her mine.

Then, just as I'm about to take her in my arms and kiss her, I feel a drop of rain on the back of my hand.

I look up.

Huge dark clouds are rolling across the sky. “Shit.”

I’ve been spending so much time looking at Skye’s ass, I forgot to keep track of the weather.

Things can change pretty quickly up here. And the last thing I want is for us to be stuck out here in a storm.

It wouldn’t be so bad if it was just me. I’ve done it before. Plenty of times. But it’s not the kind of thing you put a rookie through.

I want her to remember this day forever. But for all the right reasons.
